Yong is the current Chief Risk Officer for HSBC Bank in New Zealand – a senior banking executive with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry across global and commercial banking sales, retail/private banking sales, global portfolio capital management, and various specialist risk disciplines – with a bias towards structured trade / working capital solutions and project finance / leveraged asset finance areas.

Yong has led local, regional, and highly complex global projects; been responsible for navigating challenging changes with government/regulators and other external stakeholders; managed diverse teams during difficult macroeconomic conditions (e.g corporate loan recoveries experience during the Global Financial Crisis); and has a broad/open appreciation of different cultures having lived and worked across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
