Peter Ngan

Business Analyst, Ministry for Primary Industries

Peter has a passion for information technology (IT) and business intelligence (BI). He is a business analyst (BA) that works at the Ministry for Primary Industries. His role involves adding value to the business, using data analysis tools such as Excel and BI software. He has previously worked as a BA at the Ministry of Justice and the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

Peter is Wellington born and raised. He has a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in Information Systems at Victoria University of Wellington. During his studies, he has worked in various roles which have involved IT reporting and tutoring.

Peter is an active volunteer in the Chinese community. Currently, he is helping out in the IT side for both the Wellington Chinese Association (WCA) and New Zealand Chinese Association (NZCA). In February 2016, he helped start the Wellington branch of Future Dragonz, a New Zealand Chinese young professionals network.

In 2015, Peter was selected as a delegate for Dragon 100 which is an international leadership event for Chinese from all around the world organised by the Dragon Foundation. He is one of the chapter representatives from New Zealand of DragoNation, the alumni group for the Dragon Foundation programmes.

Outside of work, Peter is an avid chess player, passionate badminton player and likes keeping up on IT trends.
