Cecilia Chen is an Operational Risk & Compliance Manager at Westpac with over 9 years in banking industry. Having worked in multiple banking organisations, her key responsibilities include revising Control Framework and data analysis of current risks, identified Key Themes for strategic implementation to uplift risk and compliance capabilities at the root. Challenging the norm though redesigning non-key and key controls. With strong retail & business banking background, Cecilia appreciates the importance of connecting with customers and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcome.

Cecilia is also a representative member of EQUAL employee action group supports gender equity. Aiming to inspire women at Westpac and assist them in achieving their goals in the workplace, whatever they might be. She believes in cultivating a workplace that strongly promotes diversity and inclusion which will lead to a far superior performing culture. This is her passion and where she believes she can make the difference.

Born in China, Cecilia migrated to NZ with her family in the late 90’s. Cecilia thinks that growing up in a foreign country gave her an appreciation of the value of diversity and the importance of inclusion.

Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys travel, cooking, networking and spending time with family.
