Asoka Weerasundara

Managing Director and Owner, Pro X New Zealand Ltd

Asoka migrated to New Zealand with his then young family in 1998. Prior to coming to New Zealand Asoka worked as the Managing Director CEO of one of the largest public financial corporations in Sri Lanka.

He read for his MBA at University of Sri Jayawardenapure and is also an Associate member of the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka and the Institute of Credit Management.

He also holds a Graduate Certificate in New Zealand Immigration Advice, from the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic.

Asoka is a Licenced Immigration Adviser (Licence number 201301161) and is authorised to provide New Zealand immigration advice by the Immigration Advisers Authority (IAA)

Asoka is also an Education New Zealand trained agent, authorised to provide education consultancy services.

Since arriving in New Zealand, Asoka worked in National Bank as an International Trade Finance Officer and thereafter as the Head of Wellington School of Cricket of which he was the founder.

In 2012 Asoka started his own education and Immigration consultancy company as a family owned business and is currently working as the Manging director.

He was also leading cricket commentator and a radio/TV presenter in Sri Lanka before his move to New Zealand. The highlight of Asoka’s hobby as a presenter was anchoring the 1996 Cricket world cup (which Sri Lank won) on National TV.

Asoka’s wife Rangika is working at BNZ as a Banking Adviser. Asoka is also blessed with a daughter- Nathalie who graduated from Victoria with a Master’s in Management and currently working for PwC in Wellington as a Management Consultant and a son- Rakitha who is reading for his degree at Victoria University. Rakitha also became the first Sri Lankan born to play for New Zealand when he represented the New Zealand under 19 cricket team in the 2014 youth world cup held in Dubai.
