This session explored what NZ Asian Leaders can bring to the Board table and discussed why “NZ Inc” needs them. It also provided inspiration and guidance for Emerging Leaders and Entrepreneurs taking their business to the next step.
The session was held in March 2014.
There is a lack of Asians in top leadership positions in New Zealand companies. The EY study in conjunction with NZAL of the top 100 NZX companies showed only 5% Asian directors. Many of these companies have their biggest growing markets in Asia.
Our session format started with a brainstorming of ideas from Asian NZ leaders as to how to increase Asian leadership in the boardroom and senior management and why it matters followed by a panel discussing these ideas and giving their own wisdom on the subject.
