Anthony Bow

Principal and Senior Advisor, Waimana Capital

Anthony is Chair and Trustee of Bill McKinlay Park Trust, a registered charitable trust entrusted with owning and managing various facilities for football and other sports at the park in Mt Wellington, Auckland.  He is also an investor at ICE Angels satisfying his interest in start up entrepreneurship and his passion for NZ SME business.

Anthony was Chief Executive Officer of Tax Pooling Solutions Ltd, an approved Tax Pooling Intermediary, from April to October 2015.  There he grew and led a customer obsessive team providing tax pooling and tax financing solutions to SME and Corporate clients.  Notwithstanding his brief seven months tenure, the Board was pleased to acknowledge Anthony’s contribution to the success of the company and to the initiative that resulted in the business of the company being sold to PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Prior to joining Tax Pooling Solutions, Anthony was the Director responsible for leading the Specialised Finance team at Bank of New Zealand.   In his 13 years at BNZ, he structured and delivered bespoke transactions for clients or the bank.  These financing transactions included a broad spectrum of customised transactions ranging from cross border structured finance investment transactions including UK and US Repurchase transactions, preference share financings, hybrid equity transactions, equity swaps, capital guaranteed products, export credit sovereign guarantees and leasing (including sale & leasebacks).

Anthony’s last role at BNZ was leading a multidisciplinary team.  His team was integral in delivering various banking transactions for clients including bank funding transactions such as the BNZ Covered Bond and the NZX listed portfolio investment entity BNZ hybrid Tier 1 capital raisings.  Anthony also had responsibility for managing several special purpose entities.  This included BNZ Facilities Management Ltd, the trust manager for the BNZ Covered Bond Trust and BNZ RMBS Trust.  As Head of BNZ Facilities Management Ltd, Anthony ensured there was proper and efficient administration in respect of the special purpose entities and various third party securitisations managing total assets in excess of NZD$11 billion.  Additionally for a number of years Anthony co-authored, with a leading law firm, the New Zealand chapter of the World Leasing Yearbook.

Prior to joining BNZ, Anthony spent 10 years in domestic and international taxation, including 5 years with Dutch multinational Royal Philips Electronics based in Singapore.  During his last 3 years with Philips Electronics, he was a Regional Tax Manager for the Asia Pacific region.
